KBShimmer Flat Bar Neodymium Magnet for Magnetic Polish
Purchase
Magnetic polishes are an out-of-this-world invention! With the power of a magnet, color is shifted and relocated on the nail for a futuristic effect. For best results, you need a strong magnet with the right magnetic pattern – and not all magnets will work. The KBShimmer Neodymium Flat Bar Magnet will give your magnetic polish manicures a makeover!
This bar magnet has the magnetic pull effect on the flat side, allowing you to easily apply polish while keeping your hands flat. The design of this magnet is a slightly wider cat eye pattern for an amazingly easy magnetic manicure. The thin side of this bar magnet produces a negative space on the nail. This magnet can be used with all magnetic polishes (including gel varieties).
To use, place your finger on the flat side of the magnet. Paint and let your figure rest on the magnet until dry. The flat bar is stable, allowing you to rest easily and not worry about the magnet moving.
Warnings:
- CAREFUL handling of this professional-grade magnet is required to avoid pinching or crushing injuries.
- Neodymium magnets are brittle and should be handled with extreme care to avoid damage to the magnets; do not allow them to “jump” toward attracting magnets.
- Keep away and store separately from other magnets and devices and items sensitive to magnets, such as credit cards, phones, computers, and electronic devices with magnetic strips.
- Magnets can interfere with pacemakers and other medical devices; consult your doctor before use.
- Not recommended for use by children.

I have a bunch of different magnets, both neodymium and regular ones, and this is the only one that works when I place it under my finger for the cat eye effect. (None of the wand magnets do, from KBS or any other brand). Maybe my fingers are just too think for any other magnet.
But because this one's width is larger than the thin side of a magnet you normally hold over the nail, the cat eye effect is going to be less sharp. But that's a cost I'm willing to pay to not have to hold a magnet over my nail.
I see another reviewer mention it shattered because it hit another magnet. This isn't an issue with this magnet but all neodymium magnets generally, which are super powerful for their size but the atomic structure makes them very fragile. They easily shatter so it's important not to drop them or put them next to other magnets.

I only got to use it one time. It slid into another nearby magnet and shattered into several pieces. I'm so bummed because it was so easy to use the one time I did use it though and made a strong pattern.
