When the weather warms, and grass ends its dormancy, lawns across the nation perk up. And in some states, so do tiny purple violets that litter the lawn. Bold purples taunt those looking for the perfect carpet of green, but enchant many children that run and play. Many a tiny bouquet have been made from those miniature floral stems, reflecting the joy of picking flowers to give to a loved one.
Ultra-Violet is a purple reflective shade boldly colored to usher in warm weather. In low light, purple reflective glitters subtly twinkle, setting off a deep purple violet hue. In brighter light, the purple reflective glitters burst forth, giving off a near ultraviolet color. Reflective shades are best applied in two thin coats, topped with a glitter-smoothing topcoat before a coat of quick-dry topcoat.

This was my first time ordering nail polish from this company. Not a fan. The color is fun when it’s in the sun, otherwise it just looks like a regular glittery purple. It was also very difficult to work with, it got gloopy very quickly and needed SO many layers to be a solid color. I bought another color and it was the same consistency so I don’t think I’ll be purchasing anything again.

Reflective glitters are beautiful, but it’s best to know what you’re getting into with them. In general they’re thick and a little tricky to apply, dry gritty and are a pain to remove with acetone. Buuuut, they can be so pretty! I have two reflective glitters from KB Shimmer, and found this one to be the easier one to apply. For a reflective it’s actually got a fairly smooth formula, and I was happy with how it looked in two coats (plus top coat, obviously). The violet effect of the glitters won’t light up like the pictures show unless you’re playing with your phone’s flash, but you will see that violet shine at certain angles through the day as you wear the polish. Personally I bought this polish for the beautiful dusty purple tone it has when you *can’t* see the reflective effect, and for the absolutely insane sparkle the reflective glitter gives you even in low lighting. It’s so gorgeous, and one of my favorite polishes from KBS.

So far I love this color! I haven’t kept it on long due to an issue with my original base coat, but the color is wonderful and the coverage is quite nice in about 2-3 layers. No issues working with the polish after shaking well.
