Though I love glitter and glitz, I am most comfortable in leggings and a cozy sweater. I have tried so many reflective toppers. While most gave a good reflective effect, they altered the polish color. This is perfect. You get the sparkle, but still see the true color underneath.

Just the right amount of reflective glitters where one coat doesn’t cover lets the under layer of polish come through. On a multichrome those reflective dots look like stars and I can’t stop looking at it in all kinds of light.

So I bought 2 of these. One for myself and one as a gift. After using it, myself, I will no longer be gifting it. I don’t even know if I want to donate it because it’s so rusting to use. It takes forever to dry. I’ve gotten pretty good at doing my own nails, but I’ve used this polish 4 times, and every single time it gets messed up because it takes hours to dry. And if I do color under it the same day, it somehow softens the colored polish as well and messed up the whole thing. I can’t get it to work for me and I won’t inflict this on someone else. I also feel it doesn’t reflect as well as in the product photos but I could have lived with that. I’ll look elsewhere for something like this that I can actually work with.

I recently discovered KBShimmer and started working on my collection 🙂 I have fallen in love with the reflective polishes and this topper was no exception! 1 coat will give your nails some slight sparkle but 2 coats and you’ve been transported out into space! On darker colors it gives the appearance of twinkling stars in the night sky. I hope they never discontinue this!

I am obsessed! On top of darker polishes, Out of Sequins adds twinkly specs of bright white. I especially love it on blue or indigo to replicate the night sky. On a light enough polish, you’ll more clearly see the specs that aren’t lit up as a darker, silvery grey. I found the formula super easy to use, and it dried down at a normal rate. (I was a bit nervous about the review that claimed it took hours, but mine took 15 minutes at the very most, probably less, to dry.) The surface did feel gritty, so I used a Glitter Grabber on top of it to smooth before top coat.

The reflective glitter shines under direct light and sparkles in regular lighting. I find it looks best on darker bases. I enjoy adding it to an older manicure to spice things up without having to repaint my nails.
