Loaded into the car, blue skies and signs fly by as speeds pick up.  Movies, books, scenery, and license plates entertain as the miles count down to the destination.  At some point, the cruise control gets set, offering a break for tired legs on that long stretch of freeway.

Cruise Control is a nod to the road-weary traveler.  A bright cobalt blue is the base for this bold shade.  In the light, mint green and gold shimmer easily show off their hues, while a full spectrum of color shyly comes out in lower lighting. In the car or shade, a faded red-orange shifts to a light lime and faded indigo, for a polish perfect for any road trip.

**All photos are from the same batch, but lighting, skin tones and cameras may affect the brightness and tone.  See photos for notes on any layering.**

I love blue, it’s my favorite color. This is one of my very favorite nail colors because it’s not just blue, it has the perfect golden/green shift that make it amazing but not overtaking the very beautiful clear sky blue. It’s the perfect summer color in my opinion.

In the bottle, this looks like a pale golden metallic polish in a turquoise glass container — and that’s exactly what it looks like on your nails, too! It’s magical. Half the time it’s such a bright, vivid blue that it looks photoshopped in real life. It’s very reflective and changes completely depending on the lighting conditions — sometimes it looks lavender, and a lot of the time you get these bright, cerulean reflections — but I’ve yet to encounter a lighting condition that makes this polish look less than amazing. It’s perfect for a mermaid manicure. It does dry slowly, and I think I applied it on a bit too thick because I got some bumps, and normally that would bother me a lot, but here it just kind of adds to the charm, like you’re looking at sand underwater. I also used the new Free & Clear topcoat, which cracked rather badly, but the result just reminds me of sea glass, and I can’t stop looking at it. So while I wouldn’t say that it’s necessarily easy to apply, it’ll probably still look amazing if you mess it up a little bit. 😉

One of my most used polishes for sure! The bright blue to gold/green shift is super strong and it’s really eye-catching. One of my favorite shades for the summer.

I was pleasantly surprised by Cruise Control. I held off on picking this one up because the range of colors in the photos seemed a little too broad. I guess my skepticism was unwarranted, because it really does shift drastically in different lighting! The rich blue-green shift is my favorite!
