Bearly Awake Thermal Nail Polish
Purchase
Daylight Savings Time in the fall is hard. It seems that we leave the house when it’s dark and arrive home in the same lightless sky. That combination of increased darkness and lower temperatures has us wishing we could sleep the winter away, cozy in our homes like bears do. Most winter mornings, being warm under the covers with the snooze button easily reachable tempts me to grab a few more minutes of sleep. When I finally rise, I find myself bearly - I mean, barely - awake!
Bearly Awake is a blackened cerise thermal polish. When cold, a black cherry color sets off color-shifting flakes in shades of pink, orange and indigo. When warm, a bold, pink-leaning ruby hue glitters like jewels, with the flakes giving it a jelly-like appearance. Two to three coats will offer full coverage.

This is my new favorite thermal! I love the glitter and the way that the colors transition is magical!

I recently bought three nail polishes from KBShimmer. It’s my first time buying from this brand and I’ve loved all three of them! I’m torn between this and “All Fired Up” for my favorite polish. They’re both really lovely thermals. I think this one comes out ahead by a bit because I’m in love with the way the blue/purple flakies stand out, especially in the warm state. I will admit that some of the flakies tried to poke out over my nail but were easily dealt with. Some of the other reviewers are saying that they wish it didn’t have so much of it but that’s what makes the polish for me! I did two coats and some glossy top coat because my nails are short. Pretty decent for a thermal. I’ve tried a lot of them and some need three+ coats even on my short nails.

Honestly this might just be one of my favorite polishes, period. Both colors look fantastic, and the thermal is really reactive. I think the amount of flakies is just right to keep it visually interesting and give it a sense of depth. The formula is just... so good. It's so easy to apply neatly and evenly and looks perfect after two coats.

This brand has the most effective thermals I've tried, and this color is my favorite thermal polish yet. Both the cold and warm colors are pretty on their own, and I also like them together.

I absolutely love thermals and while this color is beautiful and the temperature changes work great, it is really a bit too thick with the flakies. It was a little bit harder to get off my nails and some of the pieces stuck up off the edge kind of funny. I would have loved this color even more if it was just plain Shimmer.
