Every polish wearer needs a good base coat. Fillin’ Groovy is a base coat that acts like double-sided sticky tape. It helps to create a long-lasting bond between the nail and polish while filling ridges for smooth application. It also helps prevent staining. Fillin’ Groovy is PVB Free (no Polyvinyl Butyral)!

I wore acrylics for 15 years and and due to either that or because that’s just the way my nails are, they are less than perfect. This base coat helps the polish go on smoothly and evenly. It is also not a thick base coat, which I like. It dries quickly and the polish adheres to it. Great base coat, with a great name!

I have pretty significant ridges on one of my nails due to trauma to the nail bed. Anytime I wear cremes, you can see the ridges under the polish. I tried Fillin’ Groovy, and it completely covered the ridges. I love this product!

I sometimes get peeling on the surface of my nail, so I always like to use a ridge-filling base coat for a smooth surface. The main problem I have had with other base coats is slow dry time. Fillin’ Groovy, in addition to having an adorable name, dries rapidly and extremely smooth. I change my mani every couple of days, so I can’t vouch for the wear time, but I can’t remember having a chip while wearing this. Wish I could buy a refill bottle!

I love this base! I only use it when I end up with ridges or pits from polish peeling, or on pedicures, but it always smooths my nails right out and gives me a perfect canvas for my polish. Get this and a bottle of Basic Training, then throw away everything else you’ve ever used!

Tried to use it outside, sitting in the sunlight.. the consistency both outside and in a somewhat lukewarm room was that of thick glue. Nothing dried, it tugged on every brush we would try applying nail polish with, even after some hours. In a much warmer room, it did well! Might use this one as its own polish and a top coat over it so any risk of tackiness is nullified. The color is much more gentle off-white like a sheer foundation, and is gorgeous. Might end up liking it more as we get used to it, but for now, 3/5!

I can even wear it like a “nude” nail! It adds a good texture for applying colors on top of and works well on its own with a top coat to prevent the double-sided sticky tape finish (though that’s good for attaching little nail decorations before the top coat, too :D) I’ll buy other polishes and the combo top and base coat next time!

I’d tried a few ridge-filling base coats before this, but they honestly mostly seemed like a scam, to the point where I was wondering if there was something fundamentally flawed with my nail polish application technique. This one self-levels like a boss, so you actually end up with a nice, smooth surface. Highly recommended.

It provides a smooth base with just the right amount of grab to lay the polish down on beautifully! If you’ve tried other ridge fillers without success, try this one! It’s far better than any other I’ve ever used.

I was really excited for this because I wanted a base coat that filled in my nails and stopped them from staining but I just cannot get this to work perfectly as everyone else. It won’t often self level on the nail. Which is okay when I’m wearing an opaque polish but when I wear sheers I feel like I can see where the base coat never leveled out.

prefacing this with a note that base coats are so finicky and body chemistry plays a huge role. anyway, this fills really well! self levels beautifully! kbshimmer polish formulas are my favorite. i love clearly on top. i wanted to love this. i’ve used it twice and both times it was still tacky after 15 mins, so polish just drags. it also chips and peels (on me!) like nobody’s business, like ridge filling and peel off base coats had a baby and it was this product. really sad i’m going to have to toss this one. 🙁 but at this price, try it out if you’re thinking about it!

I use this as a base coat and it has been a game changer for me. I am a chemo patient and every time I have an infusion, it leaves a groove in my nails. This fill in smooths those groves and finally makes my polish look great. I cannot recommend this highly enough! This is one product that I never want to be without!

This & the Clearly On Top top coat are my holy grails. This is a lovely, buildable blurring ridge filler. If I know I have a pigmented polish, I put a slightly thicker coat on, and I rest easy knowing there’ll be no staining. It sometimes takes some skill to make sure the layer is even over the nail, so I’d recommend using a medium amount on the brush and working carefully. The price is phenomenal, and I am so glad I switched over to kbshimmer!

This is the BEST base coat when you have a polish that is slightly sheer and you dont want that viable nail line. My nail polish stays longer as well. I don’t ever want to be with out it. So if you are thinking about trying this, I say go for it!

I honestly bought this base coat a while back and FORGOT ABOUT IT. I have been using another popular brands ridge filling base coat (it’s more pink and more expensive) and I have never liked how streaky it is but continued to use it because I was trying to finish the bottle. I decided enough is enough and dug out this bottle and yup. I am going to throw the other one away. This base cost is magical! It goes on smoothly and it levels perfectly. I wish I could include a photo because it looks beautiful on its own. I will be using this exclusively as my ridge filler from now on
