There is something sexy about a black polish. When creating our holographic line, we knew that a dark, near-black holo was a must. Stark Raven Mad is a deep dark charcoal with hints of silver sparkle. In the light, the linear holo comes through adding a pop of rainbow goodness.

Normally black holographics are greyed out like crazy. But this, as all KBShimmer polishes, is perfect. It is so black and dark, yet it has a really strong holographic effect! This is one of my staple colors for all year round.

A staple in my collection, this is a great black linear holo for having on hand if you want a plain black nail with a little something extra, or a black holo as a part of any nail art look. I enjoy this every time I wear it.

This is a beautiful black linear polish. It is really black, and the holo in it is strong. You can see it really well under any lighting, though of course it is strongest under a flashlight or direct sunlight. It covers in one coat, as well. I’m only slightly disappointed that it doesn’t really work as a stamping polish, but of course it’s not marketed as a stamping polish. Will definitely be buying it again once I run out!

This is easily one of the most gorgeous, pigmented black polishes I have ever seen. This is a true black linear holographic polish. If you love dark linear holos, you need to add this to your collection immediately. The polish goes on very smoothly. You get opacity in two coats, but three will make it really shine. The linear holographic can be difficult to see without strong lighting. My partner thought it was “dark grey” until I turned on some stronger lights, then he was amazed! It is a really fun color to use.

The description says “deep dark charcoal” so I think a very very dark gray maybe that is almost black. And the swatch pictures match this description. However my bottle was a very blackened green. There are definitely green undertones to this polish and that’s not what I was expecting at all. I know it wasn’t my imagination because I asked someone else (without letting them know what I thought of the color) “what color would you say this is?” And their answer was “dark green”. So I know I’m not seeing things. As for the formula- it was thick and kept pulling of itself if I stroked more than 3-4 times. I had to add A LOT of thinner to it to fix it but thankfully that made a difference. Overall not what I expected in both color and formula and I would NOT repurchase this polish. The color I got IS pretty but not what I paid for and the formula had to be salvaged by my tinner. Oh and also, it was chipping in less than 24 hours even though I wasn’t being harsh on my nails.
