I use this base coat for every mani and I always will! It creates a nice strong hold, and I of course need it because it is KBShimmer! You can never go wrong with any of KBShimmers products. This is just another great example!

I just got this base coat and it works well. Polish goes on smoothly. I haven’t had a staining, but avoid polishes that have a review that says they stain. I use it with Clearly On Top and they work very well together. Manicure last about a week on me with no chips.

This base coat is amazing, I have used it for a few manicures so far and it seems to hold onto the polish very well. However what REALLY sold me on this was the fact that I wore it underneath a polish that stains my nails like crazy, just to test it in that aspect. It protected my nails from getting stained by that polish very well, I had super minimal staining that was easy to get rid of using a mani bomb. I am sure with two coats of this underneath that polish I wouldn’t have experienced any staining at all. My old orly base coat did not protect from staining this well, which is something that I was dissatisfied with. Glad I picked up the basic training base coat!

I can’t be without this base coat. After the first time I tried it I literally threw away all of my other bases and always have a refill bottle ready! I’ve now added Fillin Groovy to my collection and these two are all I want or need!

This is seriously one of my absolute must haves anytime I do my nails! My old base coat was discontinued with the indy brand went out of business 🙁 I’ve been searching for awhile, and just kinda quit having gorgeous colors on my nails all the time. Now that I’ve tried this, I will not be without it! Holds well with all the polishes I’ve tried, no wonkiness after a week, and who can go wrong with KB Shimmer?! One of the best finds in ages!

This base coat is *phenomenal*. I’m a crafter and cook, and between those things & the increased need for hand washing, my manicures always end up chipped and peeling after a couple of days. I’ve had my current nail polish on for 3 days now, and I have 3 chips, all around the size of the head of a pin. None of them are peeling or showing further chipping. Basic Training outperforms every other base coat I’ve ever tried.

I have tried base coats in every price bracket and this one is easily the best. It’s affordable, dries quickly but not unworkably fast, provides good adhesion for color, excellent stain prevention (I do two coats if it’s a polish that I know will stain) and I love that I can just get the big refill bottle. My manicures last, on average, two weeks (though I have a bunch of polish and usually want to change up the color after just one). I’ve recently bought the top coat as well and am looking forward to trying it out.
